If there was less than 1 star, I would have chosen that option. I've been going here for many years before they changed over to the current management. Unfortunately, things have gone south fast. We ordered Shrimp fried rice to go. When we got home....no Shrimp in the overly grease fried rice. Got back in the car and headed back to China Taste. Met with owner lady and told her what we had received. She was less than cordial about the fact that I was returning food. I told her my problem and she responded, "how much shrimp were you expecting?". I was taking back by the question like I had done something wrong. A new order of "Shrimp" fried rice was places by her. It was very evident that my order was placed under protest. I waited patiently. The order finally came out of the kitchen and it was placed beside her. Now what amazed me is the fact that she continued to take 3 more walk-in orders and totally ignored me as I stood feet from her. At this point I was annoyed. My food was getting cold for no reason. I waited until she finally decided to help me, and I asked for a full refund of all my money. I wasn't about to accept this lousy service. The owner-lady proceed to take my money out and slammed it on the table telling me to never come back! That is fine by me. I haven't been back since and continue to tell everyone I know not to do business with these current owners. The last owner built a great business and reputation based in their customer service and friendliness. Those traits are seriously lacking in this current ownership.

This may be my go to for Chinese in the New Tampa / Wesley Chapel area. I always go for trying my staples before venturing out too far on the menu so I tried the won ton soup, beef with broccoli, and an egg roll. All were very good. The brown sauce on the main dish was thick and savory, the meat was a good cut without any fat or chewy bits that usually ruin that dish. The egg roll may be a frozen prepped egg roll, but it still came out better than anything I can make at home. I fed 6 people (3 adults and 3 kids) for around $35 and still have lots of leftovers so I can recommend this place for a quick and relatively inexpensive meal. I also must note that they use my favorite to go containers which are quickly replacing my leftovers containers.

My last experience with China Taste made me very happy. They were so efficient, and quick. I called in my order for dinner. At dinner they have combination plates for 7.95. I had the shrimp and mixed veggies with brown sauce including fried rice and egg roll. My husband had his usual sweet and sour chicken with the same thing. The shrimp were good size and good veggies like broccoli, mushrooms, and some other veggies. My husband's sweet and sour chicken was just the chicken and the sauce. But I do notice now that where ever he gets sweet and sour chicken, they do not add the tomato, pineapple, red peppers etc. I'll have to find a place that does. We ordered our food for take out, and ate it across the street at Wiregrass Mall at Barnes and nobles while getting fresh night air and getting on our lap top. It was perfect. Very fast, efficient, good yummy food, good size, and good price.

This place was your run of the mill Chinese food. The cool thing is you can get a huge lunch plus a drink for $5.75 with tax, but get it to go because the strip-mall atmosphere is really lacking. Pros: Cheap Big portions Cons: Kind of bland Flat fountain drinks Awful atmosphere

This is the only place where we go for Chinese food in the New Tampa Wesley chapel area. We have tried the competition and always come back here. Hot sour soup is fabulous. We also like the chicken wings, fried dumplings, egg foo yung, and moo goo gai pan. Lady who works the counter Is always pleasant. We feel like we get our money's worth.

The service is basic but that's to be expected for a buffet. Overall food quality is ok. The value is much better relative to what you pay. The sushi leaves much to be desired but again you get what you pay for. Overall it is worth the money but isn't anything that blow your socks off!

Really? I really loved this place as far as Strip mall Asian takeout. The lunch deal can't be beat! This place even has a set area for you to sit and eat and feel like a regular restaurant too and help yourself fountain drinks! I usually stay away from these types of restaurants located in a strip mall b/c of bland flavor and barely there meat but a friend invited me here cause she loved and I figured why not? I am all about good deals for lunch! I ordered Orange Chicken and it was really tasty and the serving was huge. I even ordered a to go ordered of Kung Pao Chicken for my husband and he enjoyed his as well. I got an eggroll and that was delicious too! For lunch this can't be beat so I say try it! Later my husband and I got it to go on a Friday night and there weren't any specials so it was pretty expensive yet still good. The people there were friendly too, so maybe the people before me went on someone's bad day =( Hey, everyone has a bad day, we're only human!

I am always on a quest for great hot & sour soup. I can not seem to crack the restaurant-world recipe! Quick yelp search while traveling from Tampa to Orlando, found China Taste. Ordered a large hot & sour soup, menu price $3.50, charged $4. Husband later ordered another small soup to go, menu price $2, charged $2.14. Hmmm, what happened on the first transaction with tax? Soup was delicious! Rich, spicy, full of flavor with some small pieces of julienned pork. I prefer chicken but the soup was not greasy. Would have liked to try other menu items but we were only grabbing a quick meal on the road. Location was very clean and well lit. Friendly service. Would return next time we are in the area.

My wife had a craving for Chinese take out so she dialed up China Taste because of their location and price. For the most part China Taste is your standard run-of-the-mill Chinese take out joint. The big difference is that the food isn't overly salty. The veggie fried rice was actually pretty bland. I'm okay with that for take out as it means I can flavor it to my liking. The broccoli and tofu, generally one of my favorite dishes, wasn't anything to write home about. I've definitely had better. If I'm looking for fast, quick and cheap, I'll pay China Taste another visit. If I want quality Chinese food that tastes fresh and pleases the palette I'll look elsewhere.

The chicken w/broccoli and orange chicken we bought was the worst tasting Chinese food ever. The rice was hard and tasted old. The breaded chicken was soggy and had barely any meat and the chicken with broccoli was bland and sticky. Don't waste your time and go elsewhere as there is a buffet in the same mall, and another Chinese restaurant down 5 minutes away

When picking up my child at Heimbergers Martial Arts, I noticed that there are many people getting take out from the restaurant. I decided to go there for lunch with my wife today. The young lady working the counter had zero personality, she didn't even acknowledge the order I just gave her, she just walked away. I ordered the shrimp egg foo young and my wife ordered garlic chicken. The garlic chicken was just ok and the egg foo young was slightly less palatable, but at only $5.60 with a soda what do you want. I don't like yellow fried rice, the correct color should be tan to brown. I would have preferred fries. However the reason that I gave them one star was due to health reasons. I saw the counter girl sneeze into her 2 hands, then she went to the fridge and handed a customer a can of soda. She should either sneeze into her elbow and wash her hands with soap, or sneeze into her elbow and rub sanitizer on her hands. I don't think that I'll be back.

The food was okay but MY GOODNESS - I have never seen such horrible service and I'm use to bad service in NY's Chinatown. Nothing but loud barking and curtness and wouldn't even switch out a soup for an egg roll.

Ok restaurant. Bland food but at least the veggies were fresh. I ordered chicken and mixed vegetables. Service was friendly and good. I probably won't go back because of the bland food.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
